María Josefina Poupin

Full Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Sciences, Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

My research focuses on molecular and physiological responses of organisms to the environment. A central area of my work is the interaction between plants and beneficial microorganisms, including the molecular networks behind growth promotion and abiotic stress tolerance, the ecological consequences of these interactions, and their potential contribution to more sustainable agriculture.

I have also studied molecular responses of plants, arthropods and marine organisms to abiotic stressors related to global change. I especially enjoy interdisciplinary collaborations that connect molecular biology, physiology, ecology and bioengineering.
